23. "Food and
appearance"
| |
1.
In the name of thy Lord who creates all things.
2.
Awaken your minds to the beauty of Allah’s creation.
3.
Behold! He has created All things.
4.
Bless his name by honoring the food and drink that you eat.
5.
What then of the command to not partake of pig, nor animal who feeds off flesh?
6.
“Unclean”, you cry dutifully.
7.
For you are told that any animal that lives in filth is unfit for food.
8.
Yet is this so? |
9.
Verily, it is the Lord who speaks.
10.
Behold! A dirty mind is far worse than a yard of pigs.
11.
Why then this command?
12.
Shall I tell you the reason for the original command of Allah?
13.
That all living creatures that dream do not pass with great regret and anguish. That all living things are respected.
14.
That all the creations of Allah are respected.
15.
The pig is no more dirty than the cow, nor the chicken.
16.
The crow is no more dirty than the fowl.
17.
All life has a purpose, all life has a term.
18.
Behold! All those who have ears, listen to the words of thy Lord.
19.
You who are ignorant see merely these commands as cleanliness.
20.
Yet it is much more, it is the cleanliness of purpose, of action.
21.
Hate spawns hate. |
22.
Regret fills regret. |
23.
When you treat the creations of Allah with disrespect, to disrespect Him.
24.
When you cage them up, denying them respect,
25.
When you beat on them and torture them,
26.
When you kill them most cruelly, you insult your Lord, you defile His name.
27.
Awaken then to His wisdom and call.
28.
Do not relish your ignorance, for fear of your soul in jeapordy.
29.
Respect all living things.
30.
This is the command of Allah. |
