3. "The Truth"
| |
1.
In your name, Lord, I lay myself down
2.
And by your name will I rise up...
3.
O Allah, You art the first and before all others.
4.
You are the last and final boundary Beyond which nothing exists.
5.
These words are the truth, Let Allah be my witness,
6.
It is to him I answer, no other.
7.
No curses or slander from those who sleep on their bellies and only rise to act like men when in public shall denounce them.
8.
The words stand true because they are true
9.
And if you are in doubt concerning that which The Lord reveals unto His servant herein then produce a statement of truth of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if you are truthful.
10.
And if you do it not - and you can never do it - then guard yourselves against an afterlife of anguish and regret, whose fuel is self-delusion and deliberate willing ignorance.
11.
For Allah knows what is and what is not.
12.
For Allah knows what is in the hearts and minds of men and women.
13.
You may trick the flesh and even the eyes, but not the one who created you.
14.
You may deny all things, to deny these words, deny the existence of grace.
15.
That somehow you or some other mortal has control and say over what Allah does and does not do. |
16.
For your sake, pray Allah does not strike you down where you stand for your foolish arrogance! |
17.
Like a child who waves their arms with the waves believing they control the ocean. |
18.
Truth is hard, unrelenting, pure. It stands alone. |
19.
Truth is sometimes painful, but necessary. |
20.
To some and many, the hard truths of these words will cause faithful to want to turn their heads, to run away, to deny them. |
21.
To some, this will make it easier to claim opposite-"A great lie", they will claim. An abomination, they will slur. |
22.
Be careful you proud peacocks of Scripture, lest your plumage be seared by the breath of Allah himself for your arrogance and misrepresentation. |
23.
For the addict finds great challenge in weaning their ways, so too the liar cannot help but lie. |
24.
So lie dear liars but know this- Allah sees everything you do. |
25.
The truth of Allah is blinding.
26.
So bury your heads, cover your eyes if too bright,
27.
But refrain from childish arrogance towards the Lord, lest you flounder and flap at your judgment in the afterlife for reprieve.
28.
All things human fade. All power and wealth are but illusions.
29.
And all must come before Allah to measure what they did and what they did not do.
30.
This is the truth.
31.
Praise be to Allah and no other.
