92. "The Night"
  
     
1.
 By the night enshrouding  
2.
 And the day resplendent  
3.
 And Him who created male and female,
 
4.
 Behold! Your effort is dispersed toward diverse ends.
 
5.
 As for those who give and are dutiful toward Allah
 
6.
 And believes in goodness;  
7.
 Surely they will ease their way unto the state of ease.
 
8.
 But as for those who hoard and deem themselves independent,
 
9.
 And disbelieve in goodness;  
10.
 Surely they will ease their way unto adversity.
 
11.
 Their riches will not except them when they perish.
 
12.
 Behold! Ours it is to give the guidance
 
13.
 And behold! Unto us belong the latter portion and the former.
 
14.
 Therefore have you been warned of great anguish in the afterlife
 
15.
 Which only the most wretched choose by their own actions to endure,
 
16.
 He who denies and turns away.  
17.
 Far removed from it will be the righteous
 
18.
 Those who give their wealth that they may grow in goodness.
 
19.
 And none have with them any favour for reward,
 
20.
 Except as seeking to fulfil the purpose of the Lord Most High.
 
20.
 They verily will be content.
