87. "The Most High" |
| |
1. |
Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,
2. |
Who creates and loves all of his creation; |
3. |
Who measures, then guides all manner of wisdom; |
4. |
Who brings forth the fertile lands,
5. |
From what once was coarse brown stubble.
6. |
Make them read and hear O Messenger so that they shall not forget
7. |
Behold! Allah knows all things disclosed and all that which still is hidden and deliberately corrupted;
8. |
And He shall reveal in time that which is truth and that which is not.
9. |
Therefore remind humanity, for it is useful to be reminded.
10. |
That they may respect and honor Him, not fear him, |
11. |
But the most wicked will sow seeds of poisonous fear and hatred,
12. |
They will find themselves in a state of great anguish in the afterlife,
13. |
Wherein as ghosts they are neither alive, nor dead.
14. |
Yet those who respect life, respect Allah,
15. |
And honor him in wise learning and noble deeds,
16. |
But woe you who prefer a life of evil to this world
17. |
Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
18. |
Behold! This is great truth given in most ancient scrolls.
19. |
To even the earliest prophets of Allah. |
