83. "The Defrauders " |
| |
1. |
Woe unto the defrauders: |
2. |
Those of the exiled Sadduceean Himyarites and Nabatean bedouin, descendents of the Phoenician traders,
3. |
Those who called themselves the UMAY-YAD, the Hand of the goddess, who burnt the true words of Allah and pretended to be pious .
4. |
Do such people not consider that they will be raised again?
5. |
Unto an Day of Account, |
6. |
The day when they must stand before the Lord of the Universe?
7. |
No, but the record of such people who bear false scripture is wicked and vile.
8. |
Ah! What will convey unto you their false record if you cannot see? -
9. |
To an ass, a thistle is delicious fruit. |
10. |
Woe unto the teachers of false witness to Allah on that day!
11. |
Those who deny the truth of the End of Days
12. |
Which deny their own senses that every end is a new beginning,
13. |
Who, when you read unto them these revelations, say: These are wicked distortions, for the Lord is to be feared as a hateful god who kills his own children.
14. |
No, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts.
15. |
No, but surely on that day they will be covered from the mercy of their Lord.
16. |
Then Behold! They verily will find anguish in the afterlife,
17. |
And it will be said unto them: This is that which you used to deny.
18. |
No, but the record of the righteous is in Heaven -
19. |
Ah, what will convey unto you what One Heaven is! -
20. |
A written deed that exists, |
21. |
Attested by all the Angels and all the Prophets who are near unto their Lord in One Heaven.
22. |
Behold! the righteous verily are in delight,
23. |
Gazing upon this time and the choice you make , |
24. |
You will know in their faces either the radiance of delight or the frown of disappointment.
25. |
They seek to give the faithful, a drink from a vessel long ago sealed
26. |
Whose seal is truth - for this they give to all those who strive for enlightenment -
27. |
mixed with water of Pure Wisdom, |
28. |
A spring from which those brought near to Allah drink.
29. |
Behold! the guilty deceivers when alive used to laugh at those who blindly believed,
30. |
And did wink one to another when they passed them;
31. |
And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting;
32. |
And when they saw them they said: Behold! These men and women are like ignorant sheep who follow us to their doom.
33. |
Yet they were not sent as guardians over them.
34. |
This day is for those who know the truth to laugh, not the false teachers,
35. |
On high view in the presence of Allah, gazing. |
36. |
Whether you be a sheep or a lion?
