71. "Noah" |
| |
1. |
Behold! The Lord sent Noah unto his people saying: Warn your people of the painful doom coming to them.
2. |
He said: O my people! Behold! I am a plain messenger of warning unto you
3. |
Bidding you: Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and believe me,
4. |
That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and temporary reprieve you to an appointed term. Behold! the term of Allah, when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew.
5. |
Noah said: My Lord! Behold! I have called unto my people night and day
6. |
But all my calling does is add to their antagonism;
7. |
And Behold! Whenever I call unto them that You may pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist in their refusal to listen and magnify themselves in pride.
8. |
And Behold! I have called unto them aloud,
9. |
And Behold! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private.
10. |
And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Behold! He was ever forgiving.
11. |
For The Lord will soon let loose the sky and it will rain in abundance,
12. |
For he helped you with wealth and children, and assigned unto you Gardens and assigned unto you rivers.
13. |
So what is the matter with you that you show no faith nor respect toward Allah
14. |
When He created you by the diverse stages of evolution?
15. |
Do you not see how Allah has created the Universe in harmony,
16. |
And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp?
17. |
And Allah has caused you to grow as a growth from the earth,
18. |
And at the end of your life you shall return to the Earth and He will bring you forth again in a new life.
19. |
And Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you
20. |
That you may choose to travel many ways across the land.
21. |
Noah said: My Lord! Behold! they have disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children increase him in nothing except ruin;
22. |
And they have plotted a mighty plot,
23. |
And they have said: Forsake not your gods. Forsake not Wadd, nor Suwa', nor Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.
24. |
And they have led many astray, and may You increase the wrong-doers in nothing except error.
25. |
Because of their deliberate ignorance of the word of God they were drowned, then found great struggle in the afterlife. And there they found they had no helpers, no gods in place of Allah.
26. |
And Noah said: My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers in the land.
27. |
For if You should leave them, they will mislead your faithful and will create nothing except wicked ungrateful offspring.
28. |
My Lord! Forgive me and my parents and those who enter my house believing, and believing men and believing women, and increase not the wrong-doers in anything except ruin.
