67. "The Kingdom"

1.
Blessed is He in whose hand is the Sovereignty of the Universe, and who is all powerful.

2.
Who has created life and death so that He may judge you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,

3.
Who has created the Universe in harmony. Can you see any fault in the Beneficent One's creation of the universe? Then look again; can you not see any flaws?

4.
Then keep looking again and again; Your sight will grow weak and dim from looking for any flaw.

5.
And truly Allah gave us a beautiful world, yet we have made it a place for war. We have been preparing our own doom.

6.
And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the anguish of painful regret and separation, a hapless end to life’s journey!

7.
When they fling themselves into their self appointed hells, regret sometimes turns to anger and boils up.

8.
As it is sometimes, such anger burst into self rage and hate. For whenever a fresh soul is flings itself into such a place the warden angels seek them out and ask them: Came there unto you no message or warning of this?

9.
They say: Yes, it is true, a messenger of warning came unto us; but we denied the message and said: Allah has nothing revealed; you messenger are in nothing but a great error.

10.
And they say: Had we been ones to listen or had any sense, we would not be among the dwellers of great anguish and regret.

11.
So it is when they finally acknowledge their errors; they shall be far removed from life but mere ghosts in the darkness.

12.
Behold! Those who respect and pray to their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.

13.
And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, Behold! He is Knower of all that is in the hearts of men and women

14.
Should He not know what He created? For Allah is the subtle, the Aware.

15.
It is He who has made the earth subservient unto you, so walk in the paths thereof and eat of His providence. And unto Him will be the resurrection of the dead.

16.
Have you taken security from Him who is in One Heaven that Allah does not know what will happen to you when the world will be in turmoil?

17.
Or have you taken security from Him who is in One Heaven that He will not let any harm come to you but you shall know the manner of His warning.

18.
And as it is written those who lived before and denied is warnings, then see the manner of their own self-destruction!

19.
Have they not seen the birds above them spreading out their wings and closing them? Nothing upholds them except the air and the Beneficent. Behold! He is Seer of all things.

20.
Or who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in nothing but illusion.

21.
Or who is he that will provide for you if He should withhold His providence? No, but they are set in pride and forwardness.

22.
Is he who goes groping on his face more rightly guided, or he who walks upright on a straight road?

23.
Say unto them, O Messenger: It is Allah who gave you being, and has assigned unto you ears and eyes and hearts. Yet small thanks do you give to Him!

24.
Let it be said: It is Allah who helps you multiply on the earth, and unto Whom you will be gathered.

25.
And yet they question: When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?

26.
Let it be said: The knowledge is with Allah only, and I am but a plain messenger of warning;

27.
But when they see it is soon the Day of Judgment, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said unto them: This is that for which you used to mockingly call.

28.
Say O Messenger: Have you thought: Whether Allah causes the true spiritual leaders and the faithful with them to perish or has mercy on them, still, who will protect the disbelievers from their own painful self doom?

29.
Let it be said: Allah is the Beneficent. In Him we believe and in Him we put our trust. And you will soon know who it is that is in great error.

30.
Let it be said: Have you thought: If your life were to end today on this Earth, who then would you turn?
