66. "The Prohibition" |

|
1. |
O Prophet! Why do you ban that which Allah has made lawful for you?, Is it a seeking to please your wives? For Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
|
|
2. |
Allah has made lawful for you Muslims absolution from your oaths of marriage under certain conditions and Allah is your Protector. He is the Knower, the Wise.
|
|
3. |
For example, when the Prophet Muhammad confided a secret fact unto one of his wives and when she afterward divulged it in a breach of trust and Allah apprised him of this, he made known to her part of what he was told and held back some of it. And when he told it her she said: Who has told you? He said: The Knower, the Aware has told me.
|
|
4. |
If you turn unto Allah repentant, and you have cause to do so for your hearts desire a disssolution; Yet if you aid one another against someone else’s marriage then Behold! Allah, even He, is a Protecting Friend of the union of marriage, and Gabriel and the righteous among the believers; and furthermore the angels shall be helpers to stop you.

It may happen that sometimes divorce is the only and best action. It may even be God’s will that sometime in the future you may find a more compatible partner in life.
|
|
6. |
O you who believe! Protect your souls and those of your family from the perils of an afterlife of regret and pain overseen by fearless and strong angels who resist not Allah in that which He commands them, but do that which they are commanded.
|
|
7. |
Then it will be said: O you who disbelieve! Make no excuses for yourselves on your own day of judgment. For you will only be repaid for what you did or did not do.
|
|
8. |
O you who believe! Turn unto Allah in sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your evil deeds and bring you into Gardens of One Heaven in which rivers flow, on the day when Allah will not reduce in position the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their light will run before them and on their right hands; they will say: Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Behold! You are Able to do all things.

O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. They shall make their home in the afterlife, a hapless journey's end to life.

10. |
Allah gives us an example for those who disbelieve: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot, who were under two of the righteous servants of God yet betrayed them so that their husbands availed themselves from the trials given unto them by Allah it was said unto them: Enter an afterlife of anguish and regret with those enter.
|
|
11. |
And Allah gives us an example for those who believe: the wife of Pharaoh when she said: My Lord! Build for me a home with you in the Garden of One Heaven, and deliver me from Pharaoh and his work, and deliver me from evil-doing people.
|
|
12. |
And Mary, daughter of Heli, whose body was chaste. And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and was obedient.
|
